This is evident from data provided by the Union of Wagon Builders regarding deliveries of tapered bearings for the first three quarters of 2023, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.

A comparative analysis conducted by ROLLINGSTOCK’s editorial team, in comparison to the results of the first half of the year, reveals that in the third quarter, approximately 600 such bearings or 0.6% of the total volume of this product sold in the country (107.5 thousand) could have been imported into Russia.

Imported cassette bearings from China and Uzbekistan were approved for use in the aggressor country during wagon repairs in December 2022 and for new productions in April 2023. They are utilized in freight wagons with an axial load of 25 tons.

According to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), certificates and declarations of conformity to TR CU 001/2011, allowing the import of cassette bearings from Chinese manufacturers, have been issued to various market players for nearly 738 thousand units until 2024.

This month, the EEC decided to maintain the anti-dumping duty on cassette bearings from China.

At the same time, there remains a high dependency on the import of radial bearings used in freight wagons with a 23.5-ton axial load. The majority of them are supplied to the Russian market by the Stepnogorsk Bearing Plant from Kazakhstan.
